It was a very wet Qualifying session for the GT Open at the Hockenheimring on Sunday morning ahead of Race 2, but the different conditions did not change the outcome: the Garage 59 McLaren #8 that won yesterday took a second pole, this time with Tom Fleming.
The young Brit posted a time of 1.47.982 and won by only 0s029 the duel en the closing phases with Christopher Haase, I the Eastalent Audi. The two exchanged P1 a couple of times but eventually, Fleming prevailed: “It was tough and I wasn’t sure at all to make it, but I was well guided by my engineer and positively surprised by the limit of the Michelin tyres”, he commented.
In row 2 will be the Car Collection Porsche of Alex Fontana (+0s397), first in Pro-Am, and the Motopark Mercedes of Max Götz (+0s560), while in third will start Ralf Aron (GetSpeed Mercedes, +1s006) and Matisse Lismont (Saintéloc Audi, +1s010).
Fastest in Am was Mark Sansom in the other Garage 59 McLaren.
