Hockenheim welcomed the International GT Open with sunshine and good temperatures. The beautiful late-summer Friday created the perfect conditions to hold the customary two sessions of free practice.
The fastest car of the day was the AF Corse Ferrari of Rafael Durán and Tommeso Mosca, with a time of 1.38.824 obtained in the morning, which was marginally better (0s101) than the best time of session 2, posted by championship leaders Tom Lebbon-Tom Emson in another Ferrari, the one fielded by Elite Motorsport.
Third-fastest behind the Toms were the Alexanders, Fach and Schwarzer in the Fach Porsche (+0s217), with the Greystone McLaren of Ollie Webb-Andrey Borodin (+0s403) in fourth.
The debuting Double TT Ferrari of Leonardo Colavita-Gilles Renmans was fifth (+0s577), ahead of 296, the Olimp Racing car of Krystian Korzeniowski-Stanislaw Jedlinski (+0s609), which was the fastest car in Am ahead of another Pole, Seweryn Mazur in the Sendom Lamborghini.
The other title contenders were 7th (Mansell-Götz, Motopark Mercedes) and only 18th (Armanni-Fontana, ZRS Motorsport).
Charlie Bateman (Blackthorne Aston) was the fastest in the Bronze session (1.39.022)
Session 2 had to be shortened as a long interruption of 35 minutes became necessary to fix a kerb that had come loose.
To be noted that the Into Africa by Dragon Ferrari #25 and the Motopark Mercedes #99 are not present.
