The AF Corse Ferrari of Bennett-Mosca, fastest in day 3 and the entire Winter Test

The Winter Test at the Circuit de Barcelona prior to the start of the 2025 season of the International GT Open ended with an intense second day of activity, this time in perfect dry conditions throughout the day.

No surprise then than lap times were down almost two seconds with respect to yesterday, with all cars posting their best time today and the first six in the last of the three sessions, when performance was sought to validate the intense work.

The final combined result of the Winter Test saw the AF Corse Ferrarri of Carl Bennett and Tommaso Mosca posting the best time, in 1.38.740, only 0s064 clear of the Car Collection Porsche of ‘Hash’-Alex Fontana, who topped session 5 in the early afternoon.

Third was the Optimum McLaren of Zac Meakin and Michael Porter (+0s858) and the GetSpeed Mercedes of Marcelo Ramírez-Ralf Aron (+0s909), who topped the morning session. They were followed by yesterday’s heroes, Tom Emson-Tom Lebbon in the Elite Ferrari (+0s974) and the ISR Audi of Filip Salaquarda-Libor Milota (+1s303).

Today saw in action for the first time the Team Thor Porsche, with Audunn Gudmunsson and Thorvald Gissurarson, who are the first Icelandic contenders in GT Open’s history. The only incident to be reported was the crash of the AF Corse Ferrari of Franck Dezoteaux, with quite some damage to the car.

Teams and drivers will now continue their preparations privately ahead of the season-opener at Portimão on 24-27 April.
