Spa-Francorchamps welcomed the International GT Open contenders with typical Spa weather: cold temperatures and a succession of overcast skies, light rain and pale sunshine. Still, the GT Open was graced with two sessions of free practice in comparable conditions, which yielded quite a promising outlook ahead of the rest of the weekend: six different brands represented in the top six and the first twelve cars within a second in the combined results.
The fastest car of the day was the AF Corse Ferrari of Laurent De Meeus and Vincent Abril, which posted a time of 2.16.499 in the first session. Abril still holds the GT3 lap record in the Belgian track (2.13.724), tracing back from the GT Open event in 2020). The #55 Ferrari was also a protagonist in session 2, as it lost a wheel in the closing minutes, forcing a red flag and the end of the session. Luckily, no big damage to the car was reported.

Second-fastest was the ZRS Motorsport Porsche of Pietro Armanni, here paired with Norbert Siedler, 0s181 off the best time. That mark (2.16.680) was the best time of session 2.
Ben Barnicoat, in the third Greystone McLaren shared with Morgan Tillbrook, was third (+0s359), ahead of the Motopark Mercedes of Christian Mansell-Maxi Götz (+0s402) and the new entry by PTT Racing, the BMW entrusted to Hubert Darmetko and Fabian Dybionka (+0s359), with these three outfits registering their time in session one. Sixth was the Villorba corse Lamborghini of Leonardo Moncini and Rodrigo Testa (+0s356).
Once again, Stanislaw Jedlinski and Krystian Korzeniowski (Olimp Racing Ferrari) were the fastest in Am, and 21st overall.
