Révész-Götz keep the Motopark Mercedes on top of free practice at Spa

The championship leading car, the #11 Motopark Mercedes, was the fastest car in today’s free practice at Spa-Francorchamps, ahead of Round 2 of the 2025 International GT Open. Levente Révész is alternating teammates this season, and GT star Maximilian Götz has succeeded Matteo Cairoli in Belgium, but the Motopark Mercedes keeps staying in the top positions. The pair posted a best lap time of 2.15.360 in session 2, which was fastest for almost all cars, given the warmer temperatures in a very sunny day in the Ardennes.

The Mercedes AMG trusted the first three positions, with the GetSpeed cars of Anthony Bartone-Fabian Schiller being second (+0s024) and of Marcelo Ramírez-Ralf Aron third (+0s076) by very narrow margins.

Fourth, and again very fast, was the Car Collection Porsche of ‘Hash’-Alex Fontana (+0s337), with the American-Swiss pair topping the rankings in session 1 (2.15.779).  Followed two other Mercedes, the ones of Steve Jans-Aaron Walker (GetSpeed, 0s444) and Valentin Pierburg-Dominik Baumann (SPS, +0s603).

The first Ferrari 296, the car of returning Rinaldi Racing of Hook-Laser was eighth (+0s781) ahead of the first Lamborghini, the Oregon car of Ugran-Rogalski, +0s844). Further back, 11th, was the best Audi, the Eastalent car of reigning champions Reicher-Haase (+1s015) and the first McLaren, the Optimum car of Meakin-Porter (+1s274).

For the Corvette by Johor Motorsport Racing, which debuted in the series with the Ibrahim brothers at the wheel,   it was a day of testing and familiarization with the track.

No major issues to be reported, with the exception of a turbo issue in the #92 Baron Motorsport Ferrari 296and a small fire in the #80 Mertel Motorsport Ferrari 488, while the Oregon Lambo #63 lost a wheel in session 2. A last-minute absence is the #54 SPS Mercedes.
