Dean Macdonald, in the Greystone GT McLaren 720S, took pole (his second in the series) ahead of Race 2 today at the Autódromo do Algarve. The Scotsman posted a time of 1.40.469, beating Yannick Mettler in the CBRX by SPS Mercedes of 0s267.
After finishing third together with teammate Zac Meakin in Race 1 yesterday following an epic duel, Macdonald joked: “Everybody is thrilled by the show we put on yesterday, but frankly I hope we’ll have a more boring race today! The car felt great, conditions perfect, and this is a tricky track, but always fun.”
In second row will be the Motopark Mercedes of Dominik Baumann (Motopark Mercedes) and the ZRS Porsche, the winner of yesterday, with Pietro Armanni (+0s441).
In third row will be the Trackfocused McLaren of James Kell (+0s576) and the Motopark Mercedes of Christian Mansell (+0s593), the car finishing second yesterday.
Krystian Korzeniowski (Olimp Racing Ferrari) was the fastest among Am contenders (1.41.315) and 1éth overall.
