Mikkel Pedersen Racing makes GT Open debut at Spa

The GT Open 500 at Spa-Francorchamps will see the debut in the series of Mikkel Pedersen Racing, the well-known racing organization from Denmark founded and led by Mikkel O. Pedersen (29), well-known on the international scene as a driver (mainly in the Porsche SuperCup, WEC and GT World), but also as the leader of the homonymous team,  active mostly in Porsche customer series.

Based in Struer, in North West Denmark, the squad is planning to take part in four GT Open events (Spa, Ricard, Monza and Barcelona) with a brand new Porsche 911 GT3R EVO, entered in Pro-Am. At the wheel will be Pedersen himself, associated with gentleman driver Lars Pedersen (66). The two share the surname, not uncommon in Denmark, but have actually no family link.

Mikkel O. Pedersen explained: “The launch of the new 992 EVO was a perfect opportunity to get into GT3 racing for our team, the logical next step after many years competing in Porsche mono-brand trophies and in GT4. An international competitive series such as the GT Open was the best choice for this initiation to GT3, and we will attend two sprint and two endurance events. We have a lot to learn, as most of our personnel is quite young, but we are very excited ahead of this new project.”
