Maiden overall pole for Alexander Fach (Fach Auto Tech Porsche)

Alexander Fach took his maiden overall pole this morning at the Hungaroring, confirming the tremendous form he and the Fach Auto Tech Porsche are showing since a couple of rounds. The young Swiss stopped the clock in 1.42.119, clinching P1 in the very closing lap of the qualifying session.

“I wasn’t sure we still had one fast lap in the tyres, but I decided to take the chance and it worked”, said Fach, the current leader in the Pro-Am standings, “The Porsche always performs well on this track, and it’s great for the team to net an overall pole. We have been doing well and stepping up our game since the start of the season.”

Sharing row one with the Porsche will be the Elite Motorsport Ferrari of Tom Lebbon, the package that dominated the last round at Misano, only 0s018 behind.

Another Porsche, the ZRS Motorsport one of Alex Fontana, was third-fastest (+0s115). Next to it in row 2 will be the Greystone GT McLaren of Dean Macdonald (+0s137).

In row 3 will be the Motopark Mercedes of Maxi Götz (+0s361) and the Saintéloc Racing Audi of Jim Pla (+0s664), making it five different car brands in the top six.

Krystian Korzeniowski (Olimp Racing Ferrari) was again the fastest among Am drivers, this time clinching a great eighth position overall.

The #24 Greystone GT McLaren entry of Andrey Borodin-Ollie Webb was eventually withdrawn after yesterday’s accident.
