GT star Mirko Bortolotti and rookie Enzo Geraci with Oregon Team for Red Bull Ring

As anticipated, Oregon Team will be at the Red Bull Ring with driver line-ups renewed by half. Today, the Italian squad announced the new names: GT legend Mirko Bortolotti will pair with Artem Petrov in the Lamborghini Huracan #63, while young gun Enzo Geraci will be associated with Robin Rogalski in car #19.

Mirko Bortolotti needs no presentation. The 35-year-old Italian is one of the top drivers in GT and endurance racing, to which he switched after winning a F.2 title. He was a Blancpain GT Series overall and Endurance champion in 2017 and he is the current reigning DTM champion. He also has wins in the most prestigious races, having conquered the Spa 24 Hours this year and GT successes at Daytona (twice) and Sebring.

Mirko will make his debut in the GT Open, and his presence will delight local fans as Austria, where he was raised and lives, is his second home.  To add more exceptionality to his presence, the one-off outing marks his reunion with Oregon, with whom he won the Eurocup Mégane Trophy in 2013 and made his first steps in GT racing.

Enzo Geraci, on his side, is one of the most promising young drivers in the category. The 18-year-old Frenchman is currently leading the Pro class in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe, where he races for Oregon, after clinching two wins. He is a Super Trofeo Junior Driver.

Jerry Canevisio, co-team principal of Oregon together with Giorgio Testa, commented: “The challenge of bringing Mirko and Enzo to the Red Bull Ring round stems from the heart. Having Mirko with us will be an emotional reunion. Much time has passed since the last time he raced with us, but for us he remains ‘the kid’, even if he isn’t one anymore and we have grown older…  On the opposite, giving Enzo a first opportunity to race in GT3 means that we strongly believe in his potential, and is a decision perfectly in line with our philosophy to support talented young drivers.”
