From Africa to first at Ricard: Letlaka-Jefferies fastest in free practice at Ricard with the Dragon Ferrari

They just arrived and they are already at the top: the day of free practice at the Circuit Paul Ricard saw the Ferrari 296 of Dragon Racing sporting the ‘Into Africa Racing’ colours setting the fastest time. Xolile Letlaka and Axcil Jefferies stopped the clock in 2.02.067 in the morning session, and that would become the best lap time of the day.

Almost all the other cars signed their fastest times in the afternoon, but no one could beat the South African-Zimbabwean duo, certainly not afraid by the very warm weather in Southern France.

Th results, with 18 cars within a second, very certainly close, and unforeseen. Polish Am duo Stanislaw Jedlinski-Krystian Korzeniowski, in the Olimp Racing Ferrari, were second (+0s093), with the besg time in session 2 ahead of the BDR Grupo Prom Mercedes of Luis Michael Dörrbecker-Amaury Bonduel (+0s120), despite a light crash in the afternoon that required a FCY, and the Car collection Porsche of Hash-Alex Fontana (+0s287).

They were followed by the Motopark Mercedes of Levente Révész-Max Götz (+0s315) and the AF Corse Ferrari of Carl Bennett-Tommaso Mosca (+0s343). Behind them, the two Mercedes of Valentin Pierburg-Dominik Baumann (SPS, +0s412) and Anthony Bartone-Fabian Schiller (GetSpeed, +0s530).

Twenty-seven cars are on track this weekend, as the Motopark Mercedes of Robert Visoiu-Nicklas Kruetten dropped off last minute. In the German squad, Timo Rumpfkeil is exceptionally back behind the wheel to replace Heiko Neumann, taken by a family commitment, alongside Lukas Dunner in car #65.

Pro-Am leader Steve Jans (GetSpeed Mercedes) was fastest in the Bronze Test 2.02.792)
