First full season for Track Focused, as the Kell father and son pair together

Track Focused, the McLaren customer team that made its GT Open debut last year at the Red Bull Ring and Monza rounds, is off to a first full campaign in the series.

The British squad established in 2009 by Sean Cooper and based in Ellesmere Port, will enter its orange McLaren 720S.

Darren Kell (58) will continue to be at the wheel and is joined by his son James Kell (28), who has been a protagonist in the GT Open, taking two race wins, racing already with a McLaren. The 2026 edition of the series will thus have a father-and-son pair, something not unusual.

Darrell Kell commented: “As a team, we really enjoyed the two trial GT Open rounds we entered in 2025, so we decided to step up to a full season entry for 2026, as well as making the step to Pro-Am.  I am personally looking forward to the challenge, to me at least, of all new tracks to learn, as well as a new tyre and conditions to understand, and trying to get the best from me and the car.  We have put together a strong team, and I look forward to driving with James as my Pro.  We very much see this year as a learning year, bringing all these new factors together, and hope to be pushing forward as the season progresses.”
