The Mercedes shone in qualifying for Race 1 at Paul Ricard, with three AMGs in the top five. Fabian Schiller, in the Get Speed #9 car. It’s the second pole of the year for the German, who posted a time of 2.00.565, initially disregarded for track limits but then validated after thorough checking.
The battle for pole was intense, in conditions different from yesterday, as temperatures dropped a bit and clouds dominated in the sky. Second-fastest was the other AMG, fielded by Motopark, of Max Götz (+0s464).
In second row will be a combative Karol Basz, in the leading Pro-Am car, the Olimp Racing Audi R8 LMS (+0s700) and Leonardo Pulcini (+0s997), author of the best performance of an Oregon Lamborghini Huracan so far this year.
Dominik Baumann in the SPS Mercedes was fifth (+1S051) and Tom Lebbon in the Elite Ferrari completes the third row (+1s058).
Poleman in Am was Ameerh Naran (Vimana by GetSpeed Mercedes), with the 22nd overall best time.
